Tryout dates are set by South Texas
Youth Soccer Association (STYSA) and are
usually held the first week in June for
under 12 and older teams. Under 11
teams usually tryout the first or second
week of May. After tryouts a player
evaluation and assessment is conducted
to help form the teams. During the
tryout period all roster spots are
reopened to form the best possible teams
to succeed in competitive soccer. We
also allow players that are not
presently playing with club teams to
attend practice sessions so we may
evaluate. If you are new to the area and would like to see if there
are roster sports available please contact Willie Fowlkes at 936-672-2232 or via
e-mail at williefowlkes@yahoo.com

Each team sets their tournament schedule immediately after tryouts for the fall season. They may add tournaments throughout the season pending player availability and each team's desire. Players can depend on playing at least one maybe three preseason tournaments (League play generally begins the weekend after Labor Day). As players get older we encourage them to attend as many college showcase tournaments opportunities that are presented to them. We are open to letting our players guest play with other teams as long as the benefits (attending college showcases) are for the player. Below is a list of tournaments where Houston Pride Soccer teams have been represented.
